Alex Ekubo, a well-known Nollywood actor, passed away. He was forty years old.

His coworkers Funke Akindele, Bolanle Ninalowo, and Godwin Nnadiekwe, who identified themselves as his allies, verified his passing on Tuesday.

Sharing on her Instagram story, Akindele wrote, “Hmmmmmm. Rest in peace, Alex. I tried to reach out to see you one more time, but I guess you knew best. May your kind soul rest in peace, Alex. ‘Ore mi like you fondly called me, I will always remember and cherish the good times we shared together. Rest in Peace, Alex.”

Ninalowo, who is currently in the US, also expressed his sorrow on his Facebook, writing, "Rest on, Alex." May God cure all of us, including your family.

Conversely, Nnadiekwe said, "I'm having trouble finding the right words." I'm really devastated by this news. Alex Ekubo is a precious spirit that Nollywood has lost, and I'm at a loss for words because this wasn't the idea. I can't exactly put into words how heartbreaking it is to think that you have already prepared your will. Rest well, my friend.

His family had not released a comment regarding his passing as of the time this news was filed.

Recall that after Ekubo's first public appearance following months of social media isolation, supporters recently voiced concerns for him on social media.
