Nottingham Forest set to offer £17.5m to Nigerian striker, Taiwo
Nottingham Forest, the Premier League's new boys, have awarded Nigeria striker Taiwo Awoniyi a record £17.5million fee.
Awoniyi linked up with Bundesliga club, Union Berlin from Liverpool for £7 million last summer.
Union Berlin values him at around £20 but has now agreed to a slightly lower fee with Nottingham Forest, according to TalkSport.com.
Last season he scored 20 goals and provided five assists in 42 games for Union Berlin in a bid to qualify again for next season's UEFA Europa Conference League.
Awoniyi joined Liverpool in 2015 and had loan spends at six different clubs without breaking through at Anfield.
The 24-year-old joined Union Berlin permanently last summer after previously being loaned out to the capital city club.
He is now set to be Forest's first signing of the summer as they prepare for a return to the English top flight after many years in the lower leagues.
