NSCDC nabs wanted 'Boko Haram member' in Ekiti
Isiah Jafaru, also known as Nabida, is a wanted member of Boko Haram who was apprehended by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command.
He is believed to have escaped from the Northeast following a sustained attack by the Nigeria Army.
Following his dubious reputation in the neighbourhood, the NSCDC agent began a manhunt for the suspect, who was apprehended in Iloro Ekiti.
According to SC Afolabi Tolulope, the NSCDC spokesman for the Ekiti command, the suspect is a high-ranking member of the terrorist organisation who moved to Iloro Ekiti, while other group members were dispersed throughout Ekiti State, according to the command's preliminary inquiry.
Dr. Sosina Paul, the state commandant, paraded the suspect and said that the intelligence and counterterrorism unit of the command had started a manhunt for the escaping terrorists in an effort to prevent them from reassembling in Ekiti.
In order to maintain calm in the state before, during, and after this holiday season, Dr. Sosina said the command would work with other paramilitary organisations.
The head of the NSCDC stated that the command will turn over the suspect to the Department of State Security Service (DSS) for additional investigation in the spirit of cooperation.
