NSCDC uncovers illegal refinery in Port Harcourt residence
A resident of Port Harcourt, where oil thieves process their stolen petroleum products, was apprehended by Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) operations.
In the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, in the Elelewo Community, NSCDC agents found the residence.
Yesterday, a group of officers led by NSCDC State Commandant Joachim Okafor visited the location of the illicit operations.
According to Okafor, the discovery was made possible by the command's dedication to combating oil theft.
His belongings have been taken as exhibits, and following a comprehensive inquiry, the yard will be forfeited to the federal government.
The NSCDC commandant also underlined how the illegal crude oil industry's operations in the region were endangering the local population's health and the environment.
He also urged the state's citizens to always provide the command with helpful information regarding the locations of illicit crude oil refining.
