NYSC reviews redeployment requirements for married female corps members, name change no longer necessary
The National Youth Service Corps has declared that married female corps members who choose to redeploy will no longer need to change their name.
The circular, which was sent to directors, Ag. Directors State and Federal Capital Territory, and FCT Coordinators, was signed by Abubakar Mohammed, the service's Director of Corps Mobilisation.
The management has approved the evaluation of criteria for the approval of concessional deployment/relocation of married female corps members, according to the circular titled "Review of criteria for concessional, deployment/relocation for married female corps members" dated November 25, 2024.
It stated that state coordinators are to henceforth be informed that “Changing a maiden name to that of a spouse is no longer a requirement for the approval of such request by married female corps members.
“Other requirements remain as they were.”
It said that directors' local offices are to oversee the execution of the directives, and state/FCT coordinators are to guarantee rigorous adherence to them.
