Official vehicles go missing in Taraba ministry, commissioner raises alarm
Concerned about the whereabouts of several of the ministry's cars is Taraba State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Joseph Joshua.
Joshua sounded the alarm over the weekend in Jalingo, the state capital, and promised to put in place measures to solve the mystery of the vanished automobiles.
He claims that his office has finished its preparations to look into every member of the ministry's management team.
He noted the absence of an ambulance, a 504 Peugeot, a Toyota Hilux, and a Coaster bus from the ministry prior to his appointment.
He claimed that a director of the ministry left with the Toyota Hilux while a former commissioner of the ministry left with the 504 Peugeot.
“How can somebody take the government’s property worth millions of naira and sell it? I am planning on how to succeed; therefore, I am not afraid of any saboteur,†he said.
The commissioner also lamented the conduct of one of his directors, who is accused of leaving the state without permission from the ministry.
Regarding the director’s action, which he deemed a violation of civil service rules, he stated, “I am telling you it’s not going to be business as usual. I am ready to work with people who believe in the vision of our administration, moving forward under the leadership of Governor Agbu Kefas.â€
