Ogun cult clash leaves three dead

In Ijoko, Ota, Ogun state, there is allegedly a cult conflict between suspected members of the Aiye and Eiye fraternity groups that has resulted in the deaths of three people.

According to information obtained by our correspondent, the conflict began last Friday when a suspected Aiye commander named Adisa was killed. It is said that Adisa's attackers killed him and severed his hand.

Additional information revealed that two members of the Eiye cult group were shot and killed by Aiye members as payback.

One of the victims of a retaliation was reportedly beheaded and his head was left hanging on the Ijoko Bridge.

“On Friday, Adisa, the Aiye leader was killed and his hand cut off.

“But in retaliation, members of Aiye returned yesterday (Saturday) around 6 pm and ruthlessly killed two Eiye members.

“They beheaded Eiye member identified as Seun, a fuel attendant at Taidom Filling Station at Alaroro in ljoko.

“The attackers specifically targeted Seun, shooting him first and causing everyone nearby to flee. They then finished him off and beheaded him.

“They left only Seun’s head at the scene, taking his body with them. The streets of Ijoko are now deserted, with residents living in fear. Increased police presence is urgently needed”, a source told our correspondent on Sunday.

Omolola Odutola, the command's Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), denied knowledge of the incident when approached.

Odutola said, “There is nothing like that and if there is anything like that I would have released it, nothing like that”.
