Owo Attack: Amotekun arrests suspects
The Commander of Ondo State Security Network, also known as Amotekun, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, has announced that some of the suspects involved in the June 5 terrorist attack on Saint Francis Catholic Church in Owo have been arrested.
According to Adeleye, the vehicle the gunmen used to flee the scene of the attack and some of the tools used were also seized.
The Amotekun commander made the announcement while parading 71 suspected criminals at the command's headquarters on Thursday.
Adeleye, who did not reveal the actual number of suspects arrested in connection with the attack, said everyone involved in the attack would be traced.
He pointed out that the investigation is still ongoing and that the perpetrators of the terrorist attack in Owo would never go unpunished.
"Regarding the Owo incident, we recovered the last vehicle they used for this operation and we made some arrests and we also recovered some important items that we are working on," he said.
“A number of people have been arrested in connection with the Owo affair, as well as some equipment.
“That day we tracked them to the point where we recovered the vehicle and we are still tracking them
"We told you I can assure you that until we get to the root of the problem, the perpetrators and their sponsors will be held accountable."
