Pastor trying to fast for 40 days dies on the 25th in Mozambique
Pastor Francisco Barajah passed away in Mozambique while attempting to break Jesus' record on the biblical Mount of Olives by fasting for 40 days.
According to the BBC, the Mozambique man of God was only able to keep 25 of the 40 days he had planned before his death.
The BBC reports that Barajah, the founder and pastor of Santa Trindade Evangelical in the Manica Church province of central Mozambique, was officially declared deceased on Wednesday.
Before he was declared dead, Barajah was apparently receiving care at a hospital in Beira.
After 25 days of fasting, he had been transported there in critical condition.
The man of God had dropped so much weight that he was unable to walk, stand, or take a bath, and efforts to restore his health dwindled.
As his condition continued to worsen, his family and church members brought him to the hospital for treatment.
The man's health was probably beyond repair despite the greatest efforts of the doctors, therefore he passed away.
