PDP, Tambuwal, others celebrate Atiku as he marks 78th birthday

As Atiku Abubakar celebrated his 78th birthday on Monday, notable individuals and organisations in Nigeria paid heartfelt homage to the former vice president and Peoples Democratic Party presidential contender for 2023.

PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba praised Atiku as a visionary and caring leader in a statement.

He emphasised Atiku's efforts during the 1999–2007 Obasanjo era, when he served as Chairman of the National Economic Council and "saw Nigeria experience significant economic growth."

The PDP's assertion that the 2019 and 2023 election mandates were "subverted by undemocratic forces" was also restated by Ologunagba.

Aminu Tambuwal, a former senator and governor of Sokoto State, commended Atiku's dedication to democratic principles and called him a shining example of fortitude and selfless devotion.

Tambuwal stated, “Your dedication to fostering national unity, advancing economic reform, and improving governance continue to inspire many.”

Ndudi Elumelu, a former House of Representatives minority leader, praised Atiku for using his international contacts to Nigeria's advantage and recognised his crucial contribution to the country's economic development while serving as vice president.
