Peter Obi says why he visited Gov Wike
Labor Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi has prompted a visit to Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.
Obi visited the former People's Democratic Party (PDP) presidential hopeful at his private home in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
While details of the meeting remain sketchy, the former Anambra state governor took to his official Twitter handle hours later to offer a clue as to why he met Wike.
He announced that he had met with Wike to discuss important national issues.
His tweet read: "Prior to this I visited Port Harcourt to meet H.E. @GovWike on important issues of national concern.â€
Obi's visit came amid an assumption circulating that Wike, a former presidential candidate on the platform of the main opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP), could defect to the Labor Party in a showdown.
