Two Nigerian Railway Corporation employees have been detained by the Oyo State Police Command for allegedly assaulting Dr. Mikail Abdulsalam, a lecturer at the University of Ibadan. 

After an incident at the Obafemi Awolowo Railway Station, officials from the Moniya Division in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, arrested the suspects on Wednesday. 

According to reports, Dr. Abdulsalam, a lecturer in the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies, went to the station to drop off his sister, who was taking a train to Lagos. According to sources, the event happened soon after he pulled into the property.

Witnesses claimed that the speaker was challenged and attacked by some corporate employees despite maintaining composure. The Nigeria Police Force's Moniya Division received a report on the incident. 

Olayinka Ayanlade, the state's police public relations officer, verified the arrests. He said that a third person suspected of being involved in the event is still at large, while two suspects are now being held.

“The suspects are in custody. Two of them. The third suspect ran away,” he said.
