Police apprehend two suspected cultists in Ogun
Two people have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command in Sango-Ota, within the state's Ado-Odo-Ota Local Government Area, on suspicion of being involved in cult-related activities.
The Ogun State Anti-Robbery Squad apprehended the criminals, identified as Abiodun Salami and Destiny Adeola, following a tip from Ijoko locals.
This was revealed on Monday by Omolola Odutola, the Public Relations Officer for the state Command, who said that the two people were captured on August 8, 2024.
According to Odutola, the suspects and other Eiye Confraternity members had convened at a place in Ijoko.
He said “When they spotted the squad, they scattered in different directions. Salami and Adeola were apprehended.
“During questioning, Adeola revealed that he was initiated into the Eye Confraternity in 2022 at Atan-Otan.
According to Odutola, the police are working harder to find the other members who managed to get away.
He reported that local amulets, probable Indian hemp, and a toy silver pistol were among the objects were seized from the scene.
