Police arraign Portable for assault
Habeeb Okikiola, nicknamed Portable, a musician, has been charged by the Ogun State Police Command with six assault-related offences.
On Monday morning, the "Zazu Zeh" singer appeared in court at the Ifo High Court in Ogun State.
On Thursday, police invaded Portable's office and the musician resisted being taken into custody. Later, on Friday, he was hauled into custody.
In addition to resisting arrest and hurting a police officer, portable has more than six counts to deal with, according to Force Public Relations Officer Muyiwa Adejobi on Saturday.
“He will be charged to court for beating up a guy in Ota, who filed a petition to CP Ogun,†Adejobi tweeted.
“There are many pending cases of assaults on people and attacks, and he will be investigated because people have complained against him.
“So, there is no sentiment in law, let him appear in court, and allow the judge to listen to the charges against him. He has no constitutional immunity anyway.â€
