Police arrest 27-year-old man for illegal possession of arms in Lagos
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Command in Lagos State's spokesperson, Jamiu Ademefun, 27, was detained for allegedly possessing a firearm illegally. This information was posted on his verified Twitter account.
According to Hundeyin, the suspect was apprehended on Wednesday in the Agege neighbourhood of Lagos. He or she, along with others who are still at large, got off a tricycle when they saw the police and fled.
“The three occupants of a tricycle, upon sighting police officers from Abattoir Division, jumped out and took to their heels, the police gave them hot chase and arrested the suspect,†he said.
He said that two live cartridges and a locally produced firearm were found on him.
