Police arrest 30 kidnappers, armed robbers, others in Anambra
According to Aderemi Adeoye, the commissioner of police for Anambra State, the command has taken into custody roughly thirty suspects, including armed robbers, kidnappers, cultists, and thugs who have been terrorising the state lately.
At a press conference held on Monday at the police headquarters in Awka, Adeoye revealed this while displaying a few of the suspects and recovered objects. She also mentioned that the arrests occurred between December 1, 2023, and the present.
Additionally, he revealed that several police officers were hurt in various encounters with criminals that resulted in the rescue of two kidnapped victims.
He said that 12 kidnapping suspects, 9 armed robbery suspects, 6 cult members, and 3 insurgents were among the 30 suspects apprehended. He also said that the suspects were apprehended at various locations as a result of tips.
He continued by saying that 40 live rounds, 12 guns, and 11 stolen cars had been taken from the criminal organisations.
He said, “We sacrificed our Christmas and New Year celebrations to make sure Anambra was safe. It is our delight that people had a peaceful celebration.
