Police arrest content creator for allegedly raping a 20-year-old
Ifeanyi Ogbonna, also known as "Odogwu of Asaba," a content producer from Asaba, was detained by the Delta State Police Command on suspicion of raping a 20-year-old lady who subsequently passed away.
The deceased allegedly traveled from Warri to Asaba after Ogbonna allegedly invited her and promised to help and mentor her in content creation, according to a petition filed with the police, which led to the arrest.
The woman later made a video in which she accused the content producer of raping her, according to the petition. After that, she apparently fell quite sick and was brought to the hospital.
Bright Edafe, the public relations officer for the Delta State Police Command, confirmed the arrest in a statement and stated that the woman died despite efforts to save her after reportedly ingesting a hazardous chemical.
According to Edafe, the suspect has been placed under police custody as investigators look into the circumstances surrounding the woman's death and the allegations.
He asked the people to maintain composure and hold off on making judgments until the investigations are finished.
The police spokesperson pledged that the command would conduct a comprehensive investigation and make sure that anyone found guilty in relation to the matter is prosecuted legally.
