Police arrest Sam Larry over Mohbad's death
The controversial socialite Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, was detained by the Lagos State Police Command as part of an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.
In a late-night phone chat on Thursday, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the Lagos State Police Command, verified the development.
“Yes, Balogun Eletu aka Sam Larry is now in our custody. He is currently assisting with the ongoing investigation,†Hundeyin said.
According to The PUNCH, the police had already asked Sam Larry and singer Azeez Fashola, nicknamed Naira Marley, to testify on Mohbad's passing.
While they wait for the results, the police last week also revealed that pathologists had completed the autopsy of Mohbad.
He said, “Autopsy has been concluded. Awaiting results.†This development followed the exhumation of Mohbad by a combined team of the Nigeria Police Force and health officials.
The nurse who allegedly gave the deceased musician an injection just before he passed away on Tuesday, September 12, had also been detained by police.
