Police arrest suspected goat thief in Kaduna
According to the Kaduna State Police Command, one of their agents has detained a suspected goat thief. in the state's Kagarko Local Government Area, in the village of Pasali Konu.
The suspect was taken into custody on Saturday, according to ASP Mansur Hassan, the command's Police Public Relations Officer, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Kaduna.
According to Hassan, the 20-year-old suspect was taken into custody by a vigilante group and a surveillance team on November 11 at roughly 04:30 while they were conducting a visibility patrol in the village.
He claims that the suspect is from Kagarko LGA's Igwa village.
He clarified that the suspect had a facemask and other potentially lethal weapons on him.
“The suspect, who specialised in stealing goats, confessed that they were two that came to the village to steal goats,†Hassan said.
He claimed that the other escaping suspect fled when they saw the patrol team, and we apprehended the other one.
“The other suspect who is at large ran to an unknown destination, but we will trail him and arrest him,†Hassan said.
The police spokesperson stated that following the preliminary investigations, the suspect would face charges in court.
Hassan reaffirmed the command's resolve to eradicate all forms of criminal activity from the state and made a timely and useful information request in order to take preventative action against crimes before they start.
