Police arrest three Yoruba Nation agitators in Osun
Three Yoruba Nation agitators have been taken into custody by police for flying their flags in the Ikire market in the Irewole local government area of Osun State.
On August 27, at about 2:00 PM, at Obada Market in Ikire, the suspects Fagbuyi Oluwafemi, Joy Faseyeku, and Alabede Janet were taken into custody.
According to a statement released by the acting spokesman for the Osun Police, Emmanuel Giwa-Alade, Fagbuyi Oluwafemi "m," 61, a native of Akure, Ondo State, was encouraging marketers to embrace and support the Yoruba Nation when he and other individuals were detained in Obada Market, Ikire.
According to him: “He also urged traders in the market to denounce their allegiance to Nigeria as a Nation, claiming that Nigeria ended in 2014 after 100 years of amalgamation.
“He displayed the Yoruba Nation’s flag in the process. The case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department after preliminary investigation. Through diligent investigation, Joy Faseyiku ‘f’ 63yrs and Alabede Janet ‘f’ 64yrs were arrested in Osogbo and Ikire town respectively in connection with the crime.”
