Police arrest two teenage robbers in Bauchi
Two youths who live in the suburbs of the Bauchi city, Gwallameji and Birshi Gandu, have been detained by the Bauchi State Police Command on suspicion of robbery.
The suspects who were detained on July 28, 2023, were found to be in possession of a machete, three laptops with mice, a power bank, 23 GSM pouches, ten cell phones, and three laptops.
This information was provided to journalists on Sunday in a statement from the state police public relations officer, Ahmed Wakil.
Wakil, a Superintendent of Police, said, “Information available at the command’s disposal revealed that on July 27, 2023, around 8pm, some persons numbering about four, armed with machetes and other weapons stole a handheld phone, Techno WP3S, belonging to one Destiny Samuel and Numzar Gambo of Birshi Gandu area of Bauchi state.
“On receipt of the information, police detectives attached to ‘E’ Divisional Headquarters led by the DPO swung into action, rushed to the scene and arrested the following suspects: Usman Musa (18) aka Kan Daki of Gwallameji and Usama Sulaiman (18) aka Keya of Birshi Gandu.
“The suspects confessed to having partaken in the nefarious act and indicted two persons who have been at large. The command launched a manhunt to have them arrested.â€
He declared that a probe was proceeding and that the suspects would be profiled and tried later.
