Police nab six suspected kidnappers in Abuja
Six alleged kidnappers were apprehended by police officers from the Federal Capital Territory's (FCT) Police Command Anti-Kidnapping Unit in a hotel located in Bassa Village.
The suspects are: one Buhari Muhammad ‘m’ 20 yrs, a wanted kidnap kingpin; Muhammad Sabiu ‘m’ 20 yrs, Isah Abdullahi ‘m’, Hamzat Musa ‘m’ 21 yrs, Fatima Abdullahi ‘f’ 22yrs and Zuliat Yusuf ‘f’ 23 yrs.
According to the police, the move is a continuation of their campaign against crime in the Federal Capital.
Joshua Eze, the husband of Blessing Eze, was abducted on January 27 and was subsequently rescued unharmed on January 28 by police operatives from the Command, according to the police, who blamed the infamous kidnapping syndicate for the incident.
One AK-47 rifle, ten cell phones, three hundred and forty-five thousand naira in cash, and some other valuables were found from the suspects who have since admitted to the crime and other kidnapping incidents in the Territory, according to a statement released on Monday by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh.
The public was reassured by FCT Commissioner of Police CP Benneth Igweh that he would not relent in his efforts to eradicate criminal activity in all its forms, even though the inquiry is still underway.
Igweh also exhorted locals to report any suspicious activity.
