Police, NSCDC arrest vandalism suspect of Abuja highway sewage manhole covers
The Abuja police, civil defence, and other security services have apprehended some of the suspected thieves who were removing the covers from sewage manholes on the city's roadways.
Additionally, efforts are being undertaken to capture their accomplices, particularly the manhole cover purchasers.
The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has ordered their arrest and stated that pertinent stakeholders are already making a lot of effort to prevent this act of vandalism by criminal elements, according to a statement released on Sunday by the Senior Special Assistant, (SSA) Public Communications and New Media to the FCT Minister, Lere Olayinka.
The public will be informed of the development in due time, he said.
Wike responded to a video that showed a man demonstrating how the covers for the highway sewage manholes had been taken, putting drivers in danger.
