Police officer stabs man to death in Lagos
The circumstances surrounding the death of one Anosikwa Patrick, who was allegedly stabbed by a police officer, are being looked into by the Lagos State Police Command.
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the police command's spokesman, the incident took place on Saturday inside the Skymall retail centre in the state's Ajah region.
According to Hundeyin, the mall's manager and chief security officer were detained and were helping with the continuing investigation.
He continued by saying that justice will be served since the state's commissioner of police, Adegoke Fayoade, had instructed investigators in the State Criminal Investigation Department's Homicide Section to conduct a prompt and thorough investigation in order to ensure that the perpetrator was held accountable.
“The police officer has been identified as Inspr Taofeek, a member of visiting 12 PMF squadron to Lagos.
“The members of the public shall be kept abreast of the investigation as it progresses,” the spokesperson said.
