Police rescue corp members abducted in Ondo
All of the Corps members who had been abducted by bandits along the Benin-Owo Motorway have been freed, according to the Ondo State Police Command.
The corps members were among the approximately fifteen kidnappers who reportedly ambushed the Sienna bus carrying the travellers last Friday at Omi Alafa Village in Ifon, Ose LGA, at around 11 p.m. with AK-47 weapons and dragged the victims into the forest.
It was learnt that the bandits had shot and killed the driver and one of the passengers who was seated in front of the cars.
On Monday, our correspondent received confirmation from Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the Police Public Relations Officer, on the victims' release.
The PPRO said, “We have rescued all the victims, I will issue a press statement on the development shortly.”
