Police rescue two abducted Fouani brothers in Lagos
The two Lebanese, the boat captain and his assistant, who were kidnapped along with Mohamed Fouani, the Managing Director of the Fouani Company and a well-known spokesperson for LG and Hisense, have been freed.
With the help of the Nigerian Navy and the Lagos State Marine Police, the five of them were saved late on Monday night in the Orugbo Iddo neighbourhood of Lagos.
The victims' rescue was confirmed by Lagos State Police Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin, who stated: "Last night in Orugbo Iddo, five of them, three Lebanese, the boat captain, and his assistant were rescued."
“Our Marine Police with the support of Nigerian Navy brought them to shore. Thereafter, our tactical team in the area took them home on Banana Island in the early hours of today.”
Remember that the Managing Director of the Fouani company (LG and Hisense), two other Lebanese nationals, the boat captain, and his assistant were kidnapped on Friday while sailing from Apapa to Victoria Island.
When this story was submitted, it was unknown whether the kidnappers who sought $1.5 million had been paid a ransom before the hostages were released.
