Portable out of police custody after meeting bail condition
Habeeb Okikiola, a.k.a. Portable, is a Nigerian artist who was released from the Lagos State Police Command.
Tuesday saw the forcible arrest of Portable due to his purported failure to finalise the payment for his opulent G-Wagon vehicle.
The singer "Zazzu" had bought a Mercedes GLE 350 from Ogunsanwo Temitope (Temmy Autos), a car dealer, but had not made the final payment.
It was discovered that Portable had only paid N13 million of the N27 million total cost of the car, allegedly refusing to pay the remaining N14 million.
The singer's release was confirmed to Vanguard on Wednesday night by SP Benajmin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the Lagos State Police.
When asked if Portable had sorted out the issues, the spokesman added, “I have no idea about it but what I can say is that he has been granted bail.”
