President Buhari applauds Super Falcons' tenacity
President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday hailed the "resilience and professionalism" displayed by Nigeria's Super Falcons in the second semi-final of the Africa Women's Cup of Nations against Morocco women's national soccer team.
This comes from a statement signed by the President's Special Advisor for Media and Public Relations, Femi Adesina, titled "Thanks for the gallant performance, President Buhari to Super Falcons."
According to Adesina, President Buhari is encouraged by the tenacity, resilience and professionalism of the girls who, despite being short two players, have shown their quality and class in front of their home crowd.
"Although many will be disappointed with Morocco's penalty shootout victory, there are many positive results for the Nigerian team to take home and better prepare for the next tournament," said the president.
He also believes that great things are expected of this team and like all Nigerians; He will cheer them on future outings.
The Super Falcons, en route to their 11th African title, lost in a penalty knockout to their host, Morocco, which ended 5-4.
