Professor Kperogi attacks APC for asking INEC for a six-day extension
Professor Farooq Kperogi has attacked the All Progressives Congress Party (APC) for asking for a six-day extension to put their house in order, claiming that the party has a habit of manipulating INEC to accept their wishes. The All Progressive Congress Party (APC), along with other political parties, has reportedly sought INEC to extend the deadline for their primary elections to refine their processes and strategies for the emergence of a presidential candidate Kperogi, writing on his verified Facebook wall on Saturday, said the only major political party set to benefit from INEC's six-day extension of the primary election schedule is APC, as PDP has already reviewed its presidential candidates and is ready to hold their primary election this weekend. He said APC has always wanted PDP to choose its candidate first to determine how it will choose its own and it got it simply because INEC has proven spineless. According to him, INEC is obviously in bed with APC and cannot be trusted to conduct a fair, credible and transparent election. If rules enacted months ago can be altered so whimsically as to indulge a political party's irresponsibility, what's the point of enacting them? We might as well have primary elections by Election Day 2023. He said Mahmood Yakubu learned nothing from his disastrous behaviour in the 2019 election. He is determined to do the same again in 2023.
