Protest suspended in Lagos, Osun
The organisers of the hunger protest in the states of Osun and Lagos halted more protests yesterday.
In order to allow for the peaceful celebration of the Osun-Osogbo Festival, protesters in Osun State opted to halt future protests, while those in Lagos paused theirs for a full day.
This occurred the same day that an earlier injunction limiting protestors in Lagos to Freedom and Peace Parks in the Ojota and Ketu regions of the state was extended by a Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere.
The Lagos protestors decided to call off their demonstration during a congress that was held in Ojota on Monday.
President Bola Tinubu's speech, according to one of the organisers, Hassan Soweto, did not address the demands of the marchers.
One of the organisers, Juwon Sanyaolu, declared following the congress that there would be no protest on Tuesday and that social media will be used to indicate the next course of action.
