PVC Registration: Keyamo declares that new voters will be divided
Festus Keyamo, Nigeria's Minister of State for Labor and Employment, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to extend the timeframe for voter registration.
Keyamo, who announced this on his Twitter page on Friday, said the new voters would be split between the ruling party, the main opposition and the rest.
“INEC should extend the time frame for voter registration. Those who spin the table to look like mass registration is a 100 percent revolt against the ruling party are living in n la-la land.
"The new voters would be divided between the ruling party, the main opposition and the rest," he said
Recall that on Wednesday, INEC told the House of Representatives it can deploy additional machines and ad hoc staff after the House of Representatives asked to extend the voter registration deadline.
Rep. Aisha Duku, chairman of the House Committee on INEC, had said the election umpire had agreed to extend voter registration.
She put in that INEC had informed the committee that registration days would now include weekends with extra hands to ensure a smooth exercise.
