Relief workers join Turkey's earthquake rescue team
No fewer than 7,000 relief workers from 61 nations have arrived in Turkey as a result of Monday's earthquake to assist with search and rescue operations, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced on Friday.
More than 22,000 people from both Turkey and Syria have already died as a result of the earthquakes along their borders.
There were 141,000 rescue workers on the scene in total, according to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoan.
According to him, more than 76,000 people have been taken out of the earthquake zone.
Despite dwindling hope, the search for survivors goes on.
The first earthquake, which had a magnitude of 7.7, occurred early on Monday. This was immediately followed by a 7.6-magnitude earthquake at noon.
