Rivers LG appoints hotel staff who returned misplaced customer's $70,000 as ambassador

As its ambassador, the Emohua Local Government Council of Rivers State has chosen Ms. Mary Ngozi Kekwaru, a member of the Eko Hotels staff in Lagos who recently returned a guest's misplaced $70,000.

Ms. Kekwaru is a native of the Rundele community in Rivers State's Emohua LGA.

She will be recognised as an Ambassador of the Local Government Area for her extraordinary act of integrity and honesty in retrieving $70,000 that a visitor lost while staying at one of the Eko Hotels in the distant state of Lagos.

Ms. Kekwaru has been appointed as the local government area's ambassador, according to Hon. Chidi Lloyd, Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area.

The people of the Emohua local government area are delighted by Ms Kekwaru's exemplary and exceptional character, according to Lloyd, who also emphasised that they are extremely appreciative of the young woman for her contribution to humanity's advancement.

 While announcing the development, Bright Jossy-Elendu, the Chief Press Secretary of the Council said: “The Chairman will on Thursday, 3rd August 2023, formally unveil Ms Mary Ngozi Kekwaru as Emohua Local Government Brand Ambassador, for elevating the image of the local government area with an exceptional character, at a brief reception to be held in her honour at the Executive Chambers of Emohua local government council.

Since the story of Kekwaru's admirable display of honesty spread on social media, several state residents have been in a festive mood.
