On Sunday, the Nigerian Senate's leadership declared that N109 million, or the members' December salaries, would be donated to the families of those killed in the unintentional bombing in Tudun Biri village, Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

The announcement was made on Sunday at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna by Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, who was leading a Senate delegation on a condolence visit to Senator Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna State.

According to The PUNCH, the Nigerian Army's unintentional airstrike resulted in the deaths of at least 100 villagers and numerous injuries.

The Deputy Senate President expressed their condolences to the governor of Kaduna over the unfortunate incident that transpired on Sunday, November 3, on behalf of Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio.

He said that the incident had deeply unsettled the Senate, and as a result, the 109 senators had agreed to donate N109 million, or their December salaries, to the victims.

Deputy Senate President Ismail Mudashir, his Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, stated in a statement that the funds would be forwarded to the state governor, who would then distribute them to the victims.

He said, “We are here to represent the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and indeed, other senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in order to sympathise with you for the lost lives and those who sustained injuries in respect of the unfortunate incident that happened at Tundun Biri in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna some few days ago.

“We are all worried. We are all disturbed but the only thing we can say now is for the Almighty Allah to grant those who lost their lives rest and those who sustained injuries, for Allah to give them a quick recovery
