Serving Corps member in Kebbi slumps, dies
Tayachibiyacha Ebal, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) assigned to Kebbi State, collapsed and passed away at the Dakin Gari Orientation Camp.
The NYSC member reportedly slumped unexpectedly and was taken to the camp clinic right away to receive medical care.
Later, she received specialised medical care at the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin-Kebbi. Nevertheless, the NYSC member gave up the ghost in spite of the physicians' attempts to revive her.
News reporters in Birnin Kebbi were given confirmation of the occurrence by Alhaji Muhammad Fingila, the state commissioner for youth and sports. Her remains have been conveyed to her home state of Adamawa, he added.
On behalf of the Kebbi administration, Mister Fingila extended a condolence message to the bereaved family, calling the occurrence regrettable. Meanwhile, attempts to gain a response from NYSC officials at the Kebbi State headquarters failed.
When asked how they felt about the situation, their spokesperson, Mrs. Hadiza, did not return calls or respond to a text message.
