Skit maker arrested for killing girlfriend in Port Harcourt

A skit creator from Port Harcourt, Damian Collins, also known on Facebook as Ai Damien was taken into custody in Rivers State on Wednesday for the murder of his girlfriend, Otuene Justina Nkang.

Before being reported missing three days ago, Ms. Nkang was reportedly completing her Industrial Training at the Prestige Special Hospital in Dline, Port Harcourt, after leaving her place of employment.

According to witnesses, Ms. Nkang went to see Mr. Collins, who then mercilessly murdered the victim—a University of Port Harcourt 300-level student—and severed her eyes, breast, and other body parts.

Mr Collins was detained by Estate security as he attempted to discard the disfigured body, which was wrapped in a plastic bag, after he had kept it in his flat for three days.

 â€œOtuene Justina Nkang was reported to be missing four days ago. She was a 300-level student of Biological Chemistry at Uniport but unfortunately, she was killed by her boyfriend who tried disposing of her body this evening (Wednesday) but was caught. The suspect has been handed over to the police,” according to a source. 

Information surfaced indicating that the suspect was also suspected of participating in additional ceremonial acts and online fraud, a practise known locally as "yahoo yahoo." 

Reacting to the crime on the X platform on Thursday, the Nigeria Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said, “The CP Rivers is handling this, and he will soon speak to it. It’s certain there will be justice.”
