Soldiers kill 11 terrorists during encounter in Kaduna
In a tough encounter that took place during fighting patrols in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, troops and special forces of the Nigerian Army neutralized 11 bandits.
The troops advanced to several locations and cleared bandit camps in Bagoma, Rema, Bugai, Dagara, Sabon Layi, Gagumi, Kakangi, Katakaki, and Randagi, according to operational feedback provided to the Kaduna State Government by Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs.
The army encountered bandits at Kakangi and Katakaki during their operations. After a fierce gunfight, the troops' aggressive weaponry was used to subdue the outlaws. As others fled, eleven bandits were confirmed to have been neutralized.
The soldiers took advantage of the situation after the battle and found two AK-47 guns, two AK-47 magazines, and 57 rounds of ammo. During the encounter, six of the criminals' motorcycles were wrecked.
As Governor Nasir El-Rufai received the report, he expressed his appreciation for the security forces' assertive response and complimented Major General TA Lagbaja, GOC One Division, and Force Commander of Operation Whirl Punch, for his leadership.
The Governor commended the soldiers for their tireless work and urged them to capitalize on this remarkable victory.
