Suspected car thief arrested in Ogun
Sunday Dosunmu, a suspected serial car thief, was apprehended by Ogun State police.
The 53-year-old guy was detained while attempting to unlock cars in Leme, Abeokuta, using locally-made skeleton keys.
Omolola Odutola, a spokeswoman for the Ogun State Police Command, informed reporters that the suspect was apprehended on Saturday at around 7:30 pm.
She claims that on September 17, 2022, in Olorunsogo, the suspect had previously been detained for a related act "while trying to steal a car from a park with his syndicate."
On Saturday, when he was seen close to a car, somebody called the police, but he escaped.
“The young guys gave him a hot chase and caught up with him. They later alerted the police team that visited the scene and arrested the suspect,†Odutola disclosed, adding that “two fabricated iron master keys were found in his possession as part of the instrument used to unlock unsuspecting car owners’ vehicles.â€
When the inquiry was over, she stated that the suspect will be charged in court.
