In the Sangotedo neighborhood of Lagos State, a shawarma vendor known only as Andy was shot and killed by alleged cultists. The event took place on Saturday night.

It was reported that as Andy was serving customers at his shawarma stall, a group of individuals wearing masks invaded the area and started shooting at him.

The victim was reportedly left in a pool of blood as the assailants fled right away following the killing.

The attackers allegedly pretended to be customers before to the attack, a police source acquainted with the matter informed PUNCH Metro on Monday.

“The information we received was that the suspects came to the spot pretending to be customers who wanted to buy shawarma.

“The victim was attending to them when they suddenly brought out guns and shot him in the head before escaping.

“Our officers later moved to the scene and saw the lifeless body in a pool of blood. The body was later evacuated from the scene,” the source said.

The police source noted that until investigations were finished, the incident had not yet been connected to cultism.
