Tanker explodes in Lagos
On Tuesday, a tanker in Lagos State's Outer Marina district exploded, causing panic in the neighborhood.
According to reports, the event happened close to the State House at around 11 a.m.
The fire was put out on the spot by a team of emergency responders from the Lagos Fire Service, Federal Fire Service, and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency.
There were also police and military personnel there, some of whom were in charge of the throng.
It was learned that the generator being used to transload gasoline close to the NIWA jetty was the source of the incident.
No one was killed in the incident, according to Amodu Shakiri, the Lagos Fire Service's spokesperson.
He said, “A diesel peddler truck of about 15,000 liters exploded and there was no casualty except for a container belonging to a construction company which got partially burnt as a result of the fire.â€
