The Chromecast and Google TV: Available in Denmark, Netherlands, and India

The Chromecast and Google TV were launched by Google in 2020 and it remains one of the best streaming dongles out there. So far, the device is only available in a few markets. But nearly two years after its launch, Google is now expanding the streaming stick to more markets, including Europe. The Chromecast with Google TV is now officially available in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Austria and New Zealand.

The dongle will be available in European markets from June 21 for €70. It retails for $100 in New Zealand and will start selling on June 22nd. In addition to the markets mentioned above, Google has confirmed to FlatpanelsHD that the streaming stick will also be sold in other markets such as India, Taiwan and South Korea. However, the company has not yet announced an official launch date or price for these markets. Chromecast with Google TV is the best way to enjoy TV viewing by bringing movies, series and more from different apps and streaming services together in one simple interface. The new Chromecast also has a remote control. Chromecast with Google TV offers a localized user interface with deeper integration with local streaming services. Features such as the "For You" and "Live tabs" may not be available upon launch in the new markets.

Google says it will bring additional features like multi-user profiles and personal watchlists via software and server-side updates. The new Chromecast with Google TV is a big step up from previous Chromecasts, offering 4K HDR streaming at 60 fps, Dolby Vision and HDR10 support, Dolby Atmos passthrough, and a voice remote control with a dedicated Google Assistant button. It is powered by an Amlogic S905D3G quad-core chipset paired with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage and supports Google Stadia. Google is also reportedly working on a cheaper model of the Chromecast with Google TV. It will be powered by an Amlogic S805X2 CPU with Mali-G31 GPU and offers 1080p streaming support.
