Three arrested over Doctor Diaso's death

Three people have been detained in connection with the death of Dr. Vware Diaso at the General Hospital in Lagos, according to the Lagos State Police Command.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesman for the command, confirmed the arrest on Saturday to the Lagos bureau of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

When asked about the identities of the suspects, Hundeyin indicated that the police had started an inquiry.

According to NAN, a doctor working at the General Hospital in Odan, Lagos, Vware Diaso, lost his life due to a lift malfunction.

According to reports, the incident took place on Wednesday night when the deceased, who resided on the building's ninth level, wanted to see the dispatch rider who had brought her the meal she had previously ordered online.

The deceased, an alumna of Babcock University in Ilishan Remo, Ogun State, reportedly had less than two weeks left in her one-year required internship term at the hospital when the tragedy occurred.

According to reports, the late Diaso was killed when the hospital lift fell from the 10th floor to the bottom level.

Additionally, it was learned that the late doctor was sent to the hospital's emergency room for treatment but passed away.

The reports also noted that the hospital management had ignored the lift's repeated malfunctions prior to the incident without taking them seriously.

While expressing his condolences to the victim's family, Lagos State Governor Sanwo-Olu has committed to conducting a thorough inquiry to determine the cause of the doctor's passing.
