Three suspected dead as gunmen invade Lagos community

According to reports, suspected cultists carried out a murderous attack on the Oreta village in the Ikorodu region of Lagos State, killing Abdulmalik Bakare, a 22-year-old resident, and two other people.

Six individuals have been taken into custody as a result of the Wednesday event, according to Tunde Bakare, the father of the deceased.

In an interview with reporters on Sunday, Bakare stated that the family had received assurances from the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the case that a thorough investigation would be conducted.

“The DPO said he would ensure that the case is thoroughly investigated,” he stated.

Residents were still dealing with the fallout from the violence when our correspondent visited the neighborhood on Sunday, and there was a general sense of unease and worry.

According to the findings, the attack might have been connected to a previous altercation that took place along Gbogbo Road between a gang of suspected thugs and a trailer driver.

Around 8 p.m., armed guys on motorbikes allegedly broke into the neighborhood and started firing randomly, according to a resident who went by the name Fasasi.

He claimed that earlier in the day, after some young people allegedly stopped a trailer carrying a container and demanded money from the driver, emotions had begun to rise.

According to him, the driver maintained that his employers had previously given N350,000 to specific people at a nearby intersection.
