"Tinubu has a rich leadership record"– Senator Bamidele

Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said on Saturday that Bola Tinubu, the APC's presidential candidate, is the greatest choice to lead Nigeria once Major General Muhammadu Buhari leaves office (retd).

As evidenced by the manner he turned Lagos into the third-largest economy in Africa, Bamidele claimed that the former governor of Lagos State was a resourceful and goal-oriented leader who could lead the nation out of the tribulations of insecurity and economic suffering to a magnificent destiny.

According to a "press statement" from his media office, the APC senator representing Ekiti Central spoke in his hometown of Iyin-Ekiti while delivering rice and other consumables to the locals to celebrate Christmas.

Bamidele called on Christians all over the nation to pray hard for Tinubu to win the presidency in the election the following year and asked them to oppose attempts by some politicians to trash the same-faith ticket that the APC had chosen.

“2023 is one election that must be by reality and not by religious fanaticism or ethnic bond. Poverty and insecurity don’t recognise all these factors. We need a thinker, resourceful and result-oriented leader to turn the country around and not someone that will bring us back to the abyss of corruption.

“Tinubu has a rich leadership record and precedents that Nigerians can rely upon. He is one leader that unites and builds. He is a welfarist and not a pillager like others. I am confident that he can do the job well and make Nigeria proud as a nation.

“As you celebrate, I appeal to you to pray for the success of our dear governor, Biodun Oyebanji, and his administration. With him being successful, all of us will have a course to be joyous because we have expectations that needed to be met”.

Bamidele stated that as their senator, he will continue to put his constituents' well-being first and help them out of their hard-hitting poverty.

Bamidele said, “As we celebrate this Christmas, the good people of Ekiti State should explore this season in spreading the virtues of peace, love and charity which is the purpose of Jesus Christ coming to the world and also pray for the peaceful conduct of the 2023 general elections.

“We must see politics as an opportunity to serve the people and not a ‘do or die’ affair. A peaceful electioneering process that is laced with integrity and fairness would most likely guarantee the emergence of credible and responsible leaders for the country via the 2023 general elections,” he said.
