Tinubu leaves for Senegal for Faye's inauguration
On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, President Bola Tinubu would leave Abuja for Dakar, Senegal, to attend the inauguration of Bassirou Faye, the country's incoming president.
Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu's Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, revealed this information on behalf of the Presidency in a statement headed "President Tinubu to attend inauguration of Senegal's President-elect Bassirou Faye." At the invitation of the Senegalese government, Tinubu, the Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, is making his first visit to the nation since taking office.
“He will join other regional leaders to witness the inauguration at Diamniadio Exhibition Centre on Tuesday,” said Ngelale.
Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other high-ranking government officials will travel with the President.
It is anticipated that he will travel back to Nigeria after the inauguration. President Tinubu's visit to Senegal is his seventh African state since taking office ten months ago.
