Tinubu mourns Lagos former Head of Service Ajose who died at 78
President Bola Tinubu has sent his condolences to the All Progressives Congress and the Lagos State Government for the loss of Akinsanya Ajose, a former Head of Service and elder statesman.
At the age of 78, Ajose, who was born in the state's Badagry Local Government Area, passed away early on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
He became head of service in 2004 after joining the Lagos Civil Service in 1979. The Lagos State Governance Advisory Council included him as a member.
“He was an astute administrator and dogged civil servant. When I appointed him as the head of the service, he became a rallying point. He had a considerable influence on the workers. He was pivotal in getting the civil service behind our policies and initiatives.
“Even after his tenure as the head of service, we remained very close because of his leadership qualities and because he was an important partner in development,” the President remarked, in a statement on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Tinubu offered prayers for Ajose's family's fortitude and support as well as the deceased's ultimate peace while expressing his condolences to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the state's government, and its citizens. On February 10, 1946, Ajose was born in Badagry.
