Tinubu touched down in South Africa for Ramaphosa's inauguration

In order to witness President Cyril Ramaphosa's inauguration, President Bola Tinubu has travelled to South Africa. On Tuesday night, Tinubu arrived at the Waterkloof Air Force Base, which is located outside of Pretoria, the administrative capital of South Africa.

South Africa and Nigeria "share a common vision on issues of political and economic integration in Africa," according to the South African Presidency, which made the disclosure on its official X handle.

The statement South African Presidency read, “South Africa regards Nigeria as a strategic partner in the context of bilateral relations, the West Africa region, and the continent in the pursuance of the African Agenda, South-South cooperation, and in the promotion of a rules-based international system,”

“Our two countries share a common vision on issues of political and economic integration in Africa.”

Remember In September 2023, during the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, Tinubu and Ramaphosa had their most recent meeting.

Ramaphosa was asked to strengthen the two nations' economic ties by the president of Nigeria.
