Tinubu under fire for turning a blind eye regarding the 'Obi death wish' article

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has come under fire from Mr. Peter Obi's supporters, who operate under the auspices of the "Peter Obi Support Network" (POSN), for remaining silent regarding a "death wish" article written by his aide and published in The Nation newspaper.

"It was unpatriotic for Tinubu not to openly condemn the obituary column written by one of his aides, Mr. Sam Omatseye, and published on Monday by Tinubu's newspaper, The Nation," Mr. Adegbite Adekunle, Deputy Director of Communications, POSN, stated in a statement sent to DAILY POST on Wednesday in Abuja.

Sam Omatseye published an essay on Monday with the caption "Obi-tuary."

The group responded by accusing Tinubu's camp of wishing the Labour Party candidate dead for the second time in three weeks and praying for his demise.

They claimed that Tinubu's backers were stirring up racial and religious tensions.

According to the organization, Tinubu was the only presidential contender to say, "It is my turn," regarding ethnicity. Yorubas' turn has come. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, and others highlighted it with their ethnic remarks and behaviors.

They contend that the APC standard flagbearer was the only one to neglect the diversity of religions when selecting his running mate, turning religion into a campaign talking topic.

The organization also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which serves as the electoral arbiter, to take action against the Tinubu supporters' abuse.
