Tragic: 13-year-old boy drowns in Lagos beach
Tragic events occurred on Tuesday when 13-year-old Kelvin Onyengba drowned while hanging out at the Alatise beach in the Lagos State neighborhood of Ajah.
The PUNCH claims that the deceased went swimming with five of his pals.
According to The PUNCH, a police source said that the child Kelvin tragically lost his life due to the waves in the water.
“The incident happened yesterday. The mother of the boy said that the wave of the water swept her son. According to her, he went out with five of his friends to swim and hang out, but unfortunately, the boy did not come back to his parents,” the source said.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the Lagos State Police, reportedly confirmed the occurrence. While the deceased's family was still waiting for the missing body to surface from the sea, he added that local detectives had visited the place of the event.
He said: “The scene of the incident was visited by detectives from the division while the family was waiting for the body to emerge from the sea”.
