Troops rescue abducted victims, thwart terrorist attacks in Kaduna, Zamfara

In a series of intelligence-led operations in the states of Kaduna and Zamfara, Nigerian forces of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested suspected extremists, prevented planned terrorist assaults, and freed three abducted victims.

This was revealed by the military in a statement released on Sunday by Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the Media Information Officer for Operation FANSAN YAMMA.

The statement claims that on June 18, troops from Sector 1 responded to a distress call about armed bandits moving through a woodland area in Kerawa, Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

Mrs. Bilkisu Hayatu, 38, Mrs. Habibah Sadisu, 30, and a one-year-old boy, Abdulmutallib Sadisu, were reportedly abandoned by escaping bandits after they saw approaching forces during the operation.

For medical attention, the victims were sent to a Kadage primary healthcare center. According to preliminary findings, they were taken on May 17 from Kajenjere Tami Village in Birnin Yero and transported to a terrorist hideout in Birnin Gwari prior to their rescue.
